About
My name is Darron Carver
Historic buildings behave differently — and they deserve advice from someone who understands them from the inside out. I’m Darron, founder of Inigo Wren, a conservation‑accredited surveyor with a rare combination of hands‑on traditional craft experience, advanced academic training, and professional heritage credentials.
My work is grounded in clarity, honesty, and a deep respect for historic fabric. Whether you’re buying a listed building, planning alterations, or dealing with damp or defects, my role is to give you calm, expert guidance you can trust.
A Background Built on Real Experience
Before becoming a specialist surveyor, I spent years working directly with traditional materials — timber frame, lime, historic joinery, and vernacular construction. That practical foundation means I don’t just study how old buildings behave; I’ve worked with them at a granular level.
This hands‑on understanding shapes everything I do today:
accurate diagnosis, realistic recommendations, and a genuine appreciation of how historic buildings live and breathe.
Accredited, Qualified & Professionally Recognised
I hold some of the most respected qualifications in the heritage sector, including:
• MSc in Building Conservation
• Full Member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC)
• MCIOB – Chartered Institute of Building
• ACABE – Chartered Association of Building Engineers
• Qualified Damp & Moisture Specialist (DMCB Level 3)
• Traditional joinery and building background
These accreditations reflect years of rigorous training, assessment, and professional practice — and they ensure my advice meets the highest conservation standards.
My Approach: Clear and Honest
Clients come to me because they want:
• Independent advice with no sales agenda
• Clear explanations without jargon or alarmism
• Evidence‑based diagnosis rooted in building pathology

I believe in empowering clients, not overwhelming them. My reports are written in plain English, with actionable recommendations and a focus on long‑term building health.
